I attended one of my professors office hours this morning, and instead of getting my questions answered, I got a lecture on why I shouldn't become a teacher.
1. Due to my background in Bible college, apparently I would probably get overly frustrated by my students lack of receptiveness. Apparently students don't like to be "indoctrinated" and "saved" by their teachers.
2. My "lovely" long hair would soon turn gray because of all the students that would be apathetic to everything I would teach.
3. Some students just will never care or try to learn your subject, so you cannot be a teacher unless you can just be apathetic to their existence and only focus on the students that want to learn.
WHAT?
In my Teaching English class, I may not like everything that we're learning, but most of it is the exact opposite of what I was just told by my professor. Our goals as potential teachers is not to only teach the students that are already receptive, it is to work to get all students to engage and become critical thinkers. It's the job of the teacher to work their hardest at getting students to engage, not to just ignore them.
On a happier note, I turn twenty on Tuesday! How exciting! It's a little sad because that means that I won't be a teenager anymore. On the other hand, it's great because I get to spend my birthday with Br! I am very excited.

(And you can send a telegram for now, or you can preplan ahead and have one being delivered for your anniversary or a birthday or for someone in a year or a month!)
I think that it's wonderful.
